See you tonight! AFWA Annual Holiday Charity Dinner!
Purpose of the AFWA Dinner:
Every year, the AFWA Buffalo Chapter hosts a Charity Dinner to raise money for a local women’s charity. The past five years, we raised between $1,500-3,500 for Dress for Success (2014), Hope for Two (2015), Gerard Place (2016), and Haven House (2017), and Child Advocacy Center (2018)!
This year, we will be supporting Little Portion Friary! The Mission of Little Portion Friary is to journey with the homeless, providing temporary shelter, meals and counseling during their struggle to acquire permanent housing and jobs. With over 35 years, the Little Portion Friary continues to bring together workers, donors and guests in an effort to meet the basic needs for food, shelter and clothing, but also to see that each guest takes his or her own steps toward a more stable life. Little Portion Friary depends entirely on the efforts of volunteer workers and remains in awe of the generosity that has sustained them! Guests, who have come from most of the 50 states, as well as foreign countries, have given themselves, by offering comfort and encouragement to one another in their struggles.
Night of the Dinner:
At the Charity Dinner, we will have a Basket Raffle, Networking, and the opportunity to donate to a great cause during the Holiday Season. The event will start at 6pm, which will give you plenty of time to socialize and strategize on which of the amazing baskets you would like to put your tickets into for a chance to win! There will be plenty of appetizers and Dinner will be served at 6:45pm with a quick presentation from the Charity.
Parking: There will be free valet parking for the event!
Bar, Baskets, and Raffles: There will be a cash bar and plenty of Baskets, Raffles, and a Gift Card Tree, so please bring cash or checks, if you would like to participate!
This event is open to everyone - Please invite spouses, family, and friends – the more the merrier!
Please Consider a Basket Donation:
Please consider donating a basket or soliciting a basket donation from companies, family, friends, or colleagues. In addition to any profits earned from the dinner, the gift baskets help us donate even more to this great cause!
If you are interested in making a difference by means of a monetary donation or auction item, please contact Becky Lankes. The Buffalo Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance appreciates all that you can do to help make this year’s event even more successful.
